About Me

I am a husband, a father, a writer, a musician, a teacher, a pioneer, and, most recently, a filmmaker.  I am exploring the frontier of the new American family and the life we live, and I am trying to tell the stories of the people I have always known but have rarely seen on anyone's screen.


In the past, my posts were solely about my life and how a theme or current event intersected with it.  However now, I am on a journey, an adventure if you will, of film production.  I am presently in the final stages of development with my screenplay Canopy, and I am pursuing a variety of production strategies.  Through this blog, I will also keep those interested abreast of the progress of this project, while hopefully creating a climate in which we can constructively discuss film, African-American media imagery, and the importance of storytelling.
